Thank you to everyone who entered our photo competition last month – we had a great response and it is fantastic to see the many ways our patients stay active, whether it be sport, gardening, work, looking after children/grandchildren or another hobby.  This month we wanted to share an entry from Rod . . .

After retiring I believe it is important to keep physically active and mentally alert.  This is why I love woodcrafting as a hobby.  Learning new techniques and developing new skills using the various tools available gives a lot of satisfaction.  As a member of the local club I find it socially enriching too, and there is a heap of support available from experienced woodcrafters.  My current project is a Huon Pine Table with curved legs.  There is certainly plenty of problem solving to do implementing this design.
